TIRED!

This dog still doesn't sleep! I love the little thing but dangggg I need some sleep!
Jody just tortures Smokey (17 year old cat), I feel so bad for him but really I can't do anything. He does fight back but she is a persistent little brat! I am hoping to get some video of her this weekend - she has also been "yapping" lately. Not a bark but a barkish-whine..... if you have a Chihuahua you know what I mean.
This weekend Jody got herself in a bit of a "tight" spot. On Saturday morning she somehow managed to get her head into the seal tight cat food container. The container has a pour spout on it that seems to be about the diameter of a tennis ball.
When it happened, I had gone back to bed to catch a few more ZZZZZ's while Brookie was sleeping in - I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on, the sound the dog was making was horrible. I quickly removed the bottom portion of the container to give her some air but couldn't get the lid off of her head. In the meantime, all the squealing she was doing woke Brooke up and scared her.
I ended up calling Suzanna on her cell phone and told her i needed her help ...QUICK! The dog gone dog was wiggling and squirming and I was afraid she was going to break her darn neck.
So Suz comes in and is trying to help me and we still can't get the lid off - Brooke is stilllllll screaming in her bedroom. I tell Suzanna... I guess we are going to have to take the dog to the Fire Department - I had tried cutting it off with Scissors and some other tool thingy that was in the closet - but couldn't get it. I asked Suzanna to go upstairs and get Brooke, change her diaper and put clothes on her. I hear Suzanna say, "BROOKE!" and then here they both come down the stairs - Brooke is but-naked. She had decided to take her clothes off and go potty!
Eventually, we managed to get everyone decent enough to go out the door and I went to the vet's office. They all got a really good laugh out of it - then very gently used the "puppy jaws of life" to remove the lid.
I have some pics of the dog with the lid stuck on her head - I'll have to down load them from my phone.
In the meantime, here are some pictures I took this weekend of Brooke. She's getting big! She will be 2 on February 6!
So first of all...she will not let you put anything in her hair....or at least she won't leave it in. Soooo... in order to get her to sit still for these cute little pig tails, I had to tell her..... I'm dressing you like a princess and you get to carry your purse! (The girl LOVES purses!)
As soon as I finished them though she had to check it out. She did keep them in all day - exciting!
After checking out the pig-tails, she had to check out the new wiggles guitar. This is a Christmas present - she will actually stand up and play it like "MOOWAY" (translates to Murray)
Then we had to have some pictures taken with Kelly Jo. This is her Build-A-Bear monkey we did over New Years. Brooke has met my boss Mary Jo many times but hasn't seen her in at least a couple of months.... for some reason, Kelly Jo is now being called Mary Jo. Funny how kids little brains work, eh?
Anyway...notice in the second picture.... she is stealing Kelly Jo's purse....I'm tellin ya ladies, hang on to your pocket book when this girl is around! She walks around the house with a purse all the time. When I am dressing her to get ready, she'll say.... PURSE! PURSE! and point to her top drawer where her "accessories" are.
The girl cracks me up, keeps me busy and seems to be walking around with my heart in her hands!
Hope everyone is doing well and surviving the winter.... I'm ready for the heat!

Sleep Deprivation.....

I'm telling you this sweet little puppy of mine doesn't SLEEP! She takes 20 minutes naps and then she just wants to play all the time. I'm having a bit of a tough time adjusting to caring for a puppy!
These pictures aren't too great because they were taken on my cell phone but....as you can see Jody has gotten very comfortable. When she does sleep this is what she looks like!
Most of the time though...this is what she looks like... POSESSED!
I feel very sorry for Smokey.... Jody just won't leave him alone! He seems to be standing up to her now though.... in fact today when I was home at lunch he had her yelping and crying. The vet says that they will establish their own boundaries. I hope for Smokey's sake it happens soon.
I plan to take some pictures this weekend - I'm not sure that she will cooperate though. She is pretty fiesty.
So.... I miss Yoda so bad. Yo-Yo just wanted to cuddle all the time. He was always on my lap or laying next to me. We loved to sit in the recliner and watch TV together. I hate to compare the two but Jody can't even sit through a commercial! Anyway, my Yoda is constantly on my mind and still his presence is every where in my apartment. It's strange how we become so attached to dogs - I think it is because they just love you so much!
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend - looks like the weather is going to get REAL cold in the next week or so. BRRRRRRR probably won't be seeing much of me... I stay inside as much as possible when it gets this cold.

Christmas, a puppy and a new year!

Christmas was good, though I have to admit I wasn't really in the spirit this year. I guess still grieving over Yoda. It was good though to visit with my family. Here is a really great picture of me and my grandma. I love this and wanted to share it!

Meet Jody Ann - the newest addition to my family. She is a sweet girl - long haired Chihuahua. Having her brings alot of laughter and I think my soul really needs it. I miss Yoda so much and Jody can't replace him but she sure keeps me busy and I like to think that Yoda is in heaven and has as much energy and spunk now as what a puppy does.

Isn't she cute? She is 12 weeks old today.

Jody and Brooke are getting use to each other.... Jody will actually play with Brooke but sometimes Brookie is a little rough. I'm trying to teach her to be gentle.
Just when I thought she was understanding "gentle" I saw this! Not so gentle, huh?
After all that rough-housing, the baby needed a nap!

By the way, I went to see the movie Marley and Me. It was really good a bit sad but not too bad, until the end. It's a great movie about how much our pets mean to us and what a big part of our lives they are.

Now, about the new year....once when I was watching Oprah, she referred to her "life list". Ever since then I have had one. Basically, it's a list of things you want to do in your lifetime. You can constantly change it - take things away if you decide your not interested anymore, add things, etc. Anyway so at the first of each year, I get mine out and take a look and evaluate how I'm doing. Then I make a list of 5 - 10 of those things I am going to do for the year.
For some reason, I was a bit off track in 2008! I only accomplished ONE thing on my list!! So I am posting my 2009 list on here ..... I think if you tell other people your goals you are more likely to reach them, so here is my list for this year:
1. Buy a House
2. Visit 2 MO state parks or historic sites hat I have never been to.
3. Visit 1 National Park or Historic site that I have never been to.
4. Lose 75 more pounds.
5. Visit 1 state that I have never been to.
That's it! Keeping my list short this year!
By the way.... if you don't know about Yoda, you will have to go back to the last post in December.
Happy New Year!
